Whenever your AC unit fails during the hot seasons, you may be forced to wait for days before a technician can come to your home to service the unit. If you are not willing to wait for that long, you can always take matters into your own hands. LS Handyman Singapore explains how to do it:
1. Switch Off the Power
Go to your electrical box and gently unplug the disconnect block. Use a voltage sniffer to confirm that the power is truly off.
2. Clean Your Condenser Coils
You will need to use the garden nozzle to remove any debris that may have built up inside the lid. Make sure that you use the nozzle to reach all the hard-to-reach areas such as the fins. Once done, adjust the stream so that you can use it to flush any dirt and debris present in the coils.
3. Examine the Fuses
Grab the multi-meter and confirm that it has been set to the lowest Ohms scale possible. Touch the black and red leads that are on each fuse. A numerical reading shows the fuse is ok, while a zero reading shows something is wrong.
4. Discharge the Capacitor
You will need to remove the capacitor from its retaining brackets. Use a screwdriver that is not insulated to touch the various terminals. Note down the readings.
5. Installing a New Capacitor
Take your new capacitor and place it inside the brackets. You will then need to tighten it using the available screws. Ensure the wires are properly secured using a zip tie.
6. Exchange the Contactor
Unplug the contactor from the old location and place it in the new location. Ensure the connectors are properly tightened. Make sure that the contactor has been properly secured in its condenser.
7. Swap Your Fan Motor
You should start by marking the blade to be able to note which side should be up and vice versa. Gently loosen the screws before removing it from its shaft. You will then need to install the new motor. Confirm that it is properly routed before securing it with a zip tie.

Ellysia Lim 04:17 01 Mar 23 Engage LS for 2 toilets revamp. We wanted to remove an old mirror & big sink cabinet, change WC. The old mirror had electrical wires. Its hard to find someone who can do dismantle and installation together. Its either to get a hacker and then another plumber; or to get a general contractor (however as job is small, contractor not willing to take up). So handyman fill in this type of work.Mr Zai was appointed for the work which took 3 days. He came to view and advise the price, then follow up by a 3 days work. We got expensive branded taps, sink cabinets, rainshower electric heater and tornado WC to install. Mr Zai is good at carpentry and electrical works. He remove the old mirror and cabinet without damaging any tiles and patch up the holes. He also change my old downlight to Led light (light you have to get yourself) less than 10mins. He also help to wash and clean my toilets free from mould using the Daiso mould cleaner i provide. And paint the mouldy bathroom ceiling. He is careful and clean up after works. Also help me to wrap up my old WC, as I don't want it to drip out poo while carrying it out of my flat. I think other contractors won't bother to clean up as careful as him. This is a big plus point.The only drawback is that there was some problem with fixing up the piping/plumbing for the new sink cabinets due to parts. Apparently the price does not include parts, and lack of communication between office so parts are presumed to be supply by customer. Do ensure when communicating with handyman, to talk about the parts required for installation etc. If parts to include by handyman there will be a charge (presume more ex) or customer can get on their own. So I have to go to nearby shop several trips to get some parts required, handyman also help to get some parts too. Toilet shops also fail to advise the parts provided or required and will leave to installer to advise. Eg the taps we got required adaptor and 2-way connector but shop doesn't advise. Also the bidet connector has some issue cannot connect, and we disputed a bit on the installation issue. In the end the bidet was installed with the parts handyman help to get and charged to us (we wanted it to be charged to us as we do not know how to get the parts).The difference between a general contractor/plumber is that they usually provide the parts with a surcharge. Handyman mostly provide the service & labour, but parts required is a grey area (because sometime customer will provide their own so can save cost). Also they may come in 1 or 2 man team, and less resources so more suitable for smaller scale job. Maybe our items are too atas/complicated/too many, 3 days are just sufficient, and the process was stressful due to the parts issue. Their schedule are also fully packed so any extension means have to book another slot again. It will be best for a one-stop shop for toilet installation but currently none of toilet shop provide such service.Overall we are still content with their work. We still have quite a lot of items at home for repair/change etc, we will still call them back for other works. They fill in a gap which most contractors won't do. As big contractors will only want to do BTO or big scale jobs. Handyman fill in for smaller scale jobs. Additional careful drilling is done to enlarge this hole which allows for future tap replacement (more practical). Engage LS for 2 toilets revamp. We wanted to remove an old mirror & big sink cabinet, change WC. The old mirror had electrical wires. Its hard to find someone who can do dismantle and installation together. Its either to get a hacker and then another plumber; or to get a general contractor (however as job is small, contractor not willing to take up). So handyman fill in this type of work.Mr Zai was appointed for the work which took 3 days. He came to view and advise the price, then follow up by a 3 days work. We got expensive branded taps, sink cabinets, rainshower electric heater and tornado WC to install. Mr Zai is good at carpentry and electrical works. He remove the old mirror and cabinet without damaging any tiles and patch up the holes. He also change my old downlight to Led light (light you have to get yourself) less than 10mins. He also help to wash and clean my toilets free from mould using the Daiso mould cleaner i provide. And paint the mouldy bathroom ceiling. He is careful and clean up after works. Also help me to wrap up my old WC, as I don't want it to drip out poo while carrying it out of my flat. I think other contractors won't bother to clean up as careful as him. This is a big plus point.The only drawback is that there was some problem with fixing up the piping/plumbing for the new sink cabinets due to parts. Apparently the price does not include parts, and lack of communication between office so parts are presumed to be supply by customer. Do ensure when communicating with handyman, to talk about the parts required for installation etc. If parts to include by handyman there will be a charge (presume more ex) or customer can get on their own. So I have to go to nearby shop several trips to get some parts required, handyman also help to get some parts too. Toilet shops also fail to advise the parts provided or required and will leave to installer to advise. Eg the taps we got required adaptor and 2-way connector but shop doesn't advise. Also the bidet connector has some issue cannot connect, and we disputed a bit on the installation issue. In the end the bidet was installed with the parts handyman help to get and charged to us (we wanted it to be charged to us as we do not know how to get the parts).The difference between a general contractor/plumber is that they usually provide the parts with a surcharge. Handyman mostly provide the service & labour, but parts required is a grey area (because sometime customer will provide their own so can save cost). Also they may come in 1 or 2 man team, and less resources so more suitable for smaller scale job. Maybe our items are too atas/complicated/too many, 3 days are just sufficient, and the process was stressful due to the parts issue. Their schedule are also fully packed so any extension means have to book another slot again. It will be best for a one-stop shop for toilet installation but currently none of toilet shop provide such service.Overall we are still content with their work. We still have quite a lot of items at home for repair/change etc, we will still call them back for other works. They fill in a gap which most contractors won't do. As big contractors will only want to do BTO or big scale jobs. Handyman fill in for smaller scale jobs. Price is unable to compare because not many competitors for this kind of job.read more

Handyman experienced n courteous. He used his own screw instead of the ones that came with the bar due to the hollow wall.Assured me the pull up bar would be able to hold my weight and eventhough haven't try yet. Thanks. 😉

Prompt action to replace my bathroom basin tap after site survey. Not easy cos my previous installer (more than 10 years ago) did not make a large enough access hole thru my vanity top. Additional careful drilling is done to enlarge this hole which allows for future tap replacement (more practical). Otherwise, it can be a massive job of removing the basin just to install a tap on it (as told the folks selling bathroom wares). Overall, good value for the service rendered!read more

Arranged for a handyman to help install a wall mounted chin up bar. Prompt responses to schedule appointments and was offered reasonable prices. Good workmanship from the lone handyman who came. Very pleased with the experience and would approach them again.

Ms Lee is fast in responding to my request, even on a Sunday! Managed to get a installer down to settle my installation shortly that day. Installer bro Tang is super polite and professional. Very prompt service. I texted Ms Lee late at night and she replied me instantly. Previously called a few handyman service companies but they didn't even bother to reply. Luckily I found LS Handyman. Called LS Handyman Singapore on a Sunday and they connected us with Uncle Alan within minutes and he came down a couple of hours later. He explained to us what he needed to do to fix the leakage we were having, gave us a quote and returned first thing in the morning the following day.
